• Reasons EchoVet does not populate measurements automatically from an ultrasound machine
    • Data entry is not the “bottleneck” of echocardiographic analysis, interpretation and reporting. EchoVet addresses the real bottlenecks of users.
    • There are so many machines out there in use in veterinary medicine, trying to support them all is impractical.
    • There is no current standard amongst manufacturers about exporting out data.
      • Some have the data encoded as DICOM, but have not implemented a standard
      • Others have the data present as proprietary data
      • Even others have no export capabilities, and one has to resort to unreliable screen shots converted by optical character readers.
    • Providing this feature would make the cost of EchoVet unreasonable for users.
    • EchoVet is able to handle many more data points than the ultrasound machines provide (especially all the Tissue Doppler measurements)
    • EchoVet has an open API structure, and if the various ultrasound machine manufacturers want to build appropriate outputs in their machines to “push” data out, we are very open to supporting that approach.
